So build is the best to be on these days?

Greetings,

I am a recovering flashaolic (many of you already know me, but im excited to see so many new members) who finally stopped at 2nd init Froyo Liq 2.6. Mounting bugs and a realized need for a newer baseband have convinced me to flash again. Seeing as how I like everything (literally, no value judging) to work, I believe Vortex Re-Loaded is where I need to be. I was just wondering if some veterans might chime in on the best path? Last I checked (long time ago) I could have flashed an Apex AIO and then re-flashed Vortex Reloaded. However, there have been some new builds since then, so that may be null now. I have always liked 1kds so i believe i may just sbf, but where am I going? I do believe .621 is a no-no? I've never rooted anything on a new GB build, so I'd need a little noob support. I'm proficient, but very rusty

Good thing for you to be on froyo. Flash that new radio, then use the .605 sbf if possible. That's as easy as it gets.

any idea where I can score that radio and instructions? is it tough??? or did u mean I should ise the apex iso to get the baseband?

that's not the new aio 15 is it?

If all is done right with the radio flash it will automatically take you to .15p pre-rooted .605 (GB, the latest version you want as its pre-.621. .621 is rootable but its a pain, gains are minimal since we can get the baseband, and its unrevertable. So best to stay on .605). You wont need to mess with root (at least this first time) as its pre-rooted. You'll just need to bootstrap and away you go. Make sure you use Droid 2 Bootstrap on GB.

As far as recommendations, I will as always recommend Wiz's MIUI. Its easily up to par with the blur roms (such as VXR) but has all the magicness of MIUI and 2nd-init. And of course if you don't like it you can just flash something else...

After you flash this aio http://www.mediafire.com/?bc440un7kyca53t you'll be on rooted 605 then use droid2 bootstrap to flash vortex VXR http://tinyw.in/XvFc you don't need to flash gapps or anything else. Everything should work on Vortex but it's not recommended to use vortex toolbox because of some issues with it.
