Yes it has the blur home. Butttttttttt I have not figured out a way to make it stick as default. Since its a blur based rom it has to have the blur home to work. RC1 comes with a launcher that is set as the home launcher. Its a replacement launcher kinda like adw, lpp etc.

csk, and anyone else.. I'm running and on stock "Home" as the default. Not a problem at all. I think it's holding its default.

Method:
First in Rom Toolbox I froze "Launcher", which may not have been necessary but oh well. Might try unfreezing.

Second, I loaded Homesmack and set "Home"as default and enabled the "Motohelper".

So far so good.

However:
I flashed DeVortex's blur mail patch but there's no "messaging" app that was blur's catch-all app for sms email acct messages etc.

This is some good info. I started using adw ex from the first week I got my X so I dont usually use stock launchers. Didnt look to see who asked how to get it to work but I hope they see your post. Never thought about freezing the vortex launcher. At least its working for you.
Edit. So are you saying the sms isnt in the patch. I havent flashed it since I didnt need it but I have not heard anybody complain about it.

Actually what I mean is if you remember in the stock rom, and yeah that's going back a while for some of us, gmail has it's own app, but all other message-receiving accounts including sms and email flow into an app called Messaging (which isn't installed). AOSP messaging (sms) is installed instead. Blur sms is called Texts I believe.

Yeah, I tried getting the blur messaging app back on Vortex a while back. Wasn't able to. I did install the blur email (which is one of the options) and I have to say, it's a godsend for me. With 3 email addresses on top of my Corporate account and my Gmail account, I get everything comin to my Droid now in such an easy manner.

This. Rom. Is. Perfect. for me that is.

Just flashed this ROM for my DX. I must say it is AMAZING. Really like it so far. I am going to use this rom to get my wife to come over to the darkside.... to Android from Blackberry. She has been reluctant , but I think this ROM is the final touch into getting her over.

Is there a thread with Boot Animations that are compatable with this Vortex Rom? or is there customizations built into the Rom where I can change boot animation?

the boot animations aren't specific... well... aside from miui... and yes... we have a couple boot animations here... all you need to do is download the bootanimation.zip... go to /system/media/ and add a .bak to the end of the one already in there... then just copy the file over
