To buy online or from the store?

    Hi all,
My contract is up the end of November and I'm planning on upgrading my current LG Dare phone for a Droid-X. I just wanted to get an idea what everyone thinks about buying the Droid-X online or is it better to buy it from Verizon or any store for that matter?

I buy the majority of things online but... The lady who helped me at the store was super nice and explained every deatil of the plan I picked. Helped me get a discount. Called me when my phone shipped. Even called to make sure I got it and was happy.

I hear this is more the exception that the rule.

I got mine online, because the rebate was instant and I did not have to wait for my rebate (card). I will say this, when I ordered my X, they were back ordered so I had to wait anyway, so it really did not matter.

I'm looking at one on Wirefly for $149.99 but I'm not to sure about this insurance plan they offer by MDPA. Has anyone purchase a phone from this site?

You know there is a HUGE difference in the Droid X and the Droid 2 right?

Oh yeah, I know there is a BIG difference...LOL

The D2 was for my girl because she uses the keyboard for txting. She is also upgrading from a Motorola Voyager, that's why I suggested for her to get the D2 but now she tells me she likes the X.

OK well I got my X from the Verizon site. She may want to rethink that D2, I had the Droid 1 and thought I just had to have that keyboard, and never used it.

That's the thing. She's always clicking away on her keyboard and she's pretty good with it, but when she tries to use the touch keyboard on my Dare she gets frustrated.
I just hope that the touch keyboard on the X is more forgiving for her sake...LOL
The touch keyboard on my Dare sucks...LOL

Two suggestions to help with typing. One is to use the slide feature where all you have to do is slide your finger from one letter to the next. (I'm using that now) The other is to download Vlingo, a voice recognition app. You don't even have to type with that app. It also speaks incoming text messages. If you are in a place where you can talk, voice recognition works great, other wise sliding is a lot easier than typing
