Notifications

I no longer get notifications of emails on the status bar or when phone is in standby (use to get a green flashing light). I have made sure notifications are on in the email settings. When I go to Messaging, there are no indications of emails. I click on an email account, it opens and then d/l mail, then I get a notification ringtone and vibrate.
Are there any other places I should check the get the green light flashing when emails are received. I have it set to Performance mode so it syncs without restrictions.

it would help if you said what type of phone your using what os and kernel version. are you rooted and are you running a stock or custom rom
