They all are moving away from quality and into hype and short life expectancy.

I just can't make myself go from something that feels like a quality device in my hand to something that feels like a toy.

The fact they have quad core processors and all the other stuff is mostly overkill for most. Its just the ability to brag that my phone has more than yours. The truth is it's not useful for most. I mean what percentage of us even have the ability to connect to 4g? Then we can address the power usage and batteries. These phones should ALL have 3500 mah batteries. With the power they need the stock batteries are about like putting $2 worth of gas in your car.

GS3 gives me two days of battery life. WIFI at home and LTE everywhere else. And it's a dual core. Just saying . There is no current quad-core LTE phone, fwiw. I agree quad is overkill at this time.

No way!!! I don't believe you. Is it the rom? Or the wifi? I don't use wifi that much. Maybe I should try it?

If you don't need the absolute newest device out then you can get a Galaxy Nexus free right now. Lots of Dev love and an unlocked BL.

Blasting through space on an AOKP N7 Unicorn
BOOT MANAGER......5 roms 5 times the fun!

Get a razr maxx. The battery life is unreal. I'm on a custom rom and get 24+ hours every single day. Like today i listened too Google music on 4g for 7 hours straight at work, and have over 2 hours screen on time and im at 45%. I think the build quality of the razr is good. But i guess it all depends on what u want out of a device, or how u plan on using it. Bootloaders don't mean nothing to me. I can flash roms all day long on my locked device. And pretty much any top tier android device has custom roms so that's not a factor. Pretty much any of the top tier phones would bee a good choice. There are always deals out there so u could pretty much find what u want for pretty cheap. But phones are always coming out. Either pull the trigger now, keep what u got, or wait for a device u want. I had to upgrade to keep my unlimited data or i would of got the razr hd. Happy shopping. Pretty is the word of the day :-)

This means you WILL be stuck in an upgrade cycle unless it is removable and replaceable in some sort, same with SD storage. SD only has so many writes/rewrites available, eventually it fails. ...
    Nice write-up G!
I agree, the lack of a removable battery is a huge minus to the razr, especially compared to our X'es, but ...
There is a removable sd card in the razr line. I believe it's the g-nex that has fixed storage

Thats sure a lot of memory!

I will not buy a phone that doesn't have the ability to add a sd card nor will I buy one that doesn't have the ability to install an extended battery. Not being able to at least remove the battery replace it is out of the question.

To sell a phone that you can't remove the battery is absolutely nuts. Even if you aren't interested in an extended battery the lack of ability to at least replace a worn out battery makes no sense to me at all. ALL batteries die after a certain number of cycles.

Phones are getting to the point of being like bic lighters. Made to last a short period of time then throw them away and get another. It wouldn't be so bad if the prices weren't as outrageous as they are.

People are going to buy them. Why wouldn't they stick it to them. I mean if someone doesn't see what's happening they are blind. In days past phones were built much better. Granted they weren't smartphones but at least one would last more than a year or two at most. I wouldn't mind paying the prices if, with a little care, they would last.

I may just go back to a simple phone and use a laptop or PC to do my other tasks. This paying out the wazoo monthly and the prices of smartphones is getting really outrageous.

I guess. i got a maxx though so i have the extended battery without having to strap a brick on the back. As for non removal batteries. i have 3rd gen iPod touch and i have had it for 3 years or so and the battery it's still the same as the day i bought it lol. Plus u can replace the battery in a phone that has a non removal battery. It just takes some tools and YouTube. But to each it's own i guess. Not everybody is tech savvy and would tackle a project like that. Personally i get bored of my device and don't want it for more then 2 years anyways. But i actually don't even need a phone at all. I was thinking about just not having a one. I don't really talk on mine now. There is no one out there i need too bee talking to anyways. IJust use it for web, which i have at home.

that's why I have 5 batteries 2 Xtended 3 stock. And I would never go back to a feature phone because I can't see the screen very well even with correction
