    I tried that last night and that didn't work.

    Finished installing chrome and no more ad on google.com. Interesting.

    Thanks everyone. Do you think there is something more to be concerned about?

    Hmm, sometimes viruses/malware affect browswer add on and search bars. Maybe go into internet options, delete the Google search engine, than add it back in and make sure you clicked the official one. I know its the home page, but I'm just throwing out ideas from experience.

    And always remember to read, read, read, and read some more!

    Do you mean on the "general" tab where it says Home page? If so, I tried that too. If not, I don't see where the google search engine is located.

    Sidenote: Chrome is working. I was getting tired of "binging" everything.

    Cog wheel for options, then select "Manage add-ons." Is Google Search listed under Search Engines?

    Under add on types/search providers it only lists bing, nothing else.
