Here's Ol' Red, just returned from the first ride of the year, now I have to take the back wheel off again because the tube in it leaks, fun!

Hey I have some dents myself... and some rust, and I don't see so well. That'd be worth the effort to restore after ya get done having a bunch of fun riding it this year. It looks complete & original. Those things would add to it's value, and make you really cool when you show up at the Classic Japanese M'cycle ralleys.

I'm not sure where you're from, but in NC, Kawasakis are the cheapest, then Honda and Suzuki are a close second, and then Yamaha...I'm not counting exotic sport bikes or Buells. And Gixxer price also depends on what size and year you buy. My 750 was more expensive than most 1000's. I don't know about stock parts prices (haven't had to repair it in the three and a half years I've had it) but a header back Yoshi exhaust was a little over a grand. I didn't price a full exhaust on my wife's CBR but I only spent about $350 on a slip on Two Brothers.

Im in Texas. Kawis and gixxer prices are very close. but the gixxer used to have the highest HP numbers. so that along with a low price meant it was a very strong selling point to the kids wanting their first bike. and sadly though those bikes tend to get looped pretty early after being bought. sometimes without any kind of insurance....like my step brother did. So parts outs are quite common. granted you search on ebay and you'll find part outs for every bike. but gixxers used to be the highest quantity. I bought my yoshi slip ons for my r1. $900 for just the slip on...then a Leo Ypipe cost another $200.
no offense to your wifes bike or anything with this comment but two brothers pipes are much cheaper then graves, yoshi, leo, akra's because they are subpar quality. granted they have the loudest sound of most exhaust. but having the loudest bike doesnt make it the nicest sounding bike. jump on the r1 forums and very few folks have 2 brothers. again. Im NOT saying anything against your wifes bike. hell I wish my girlfriend would get her own bike so I can remove the pasenger pegs and put a rear cowl on my bike haha
I'm leaving it as it is for now, even banged up it draws a crowd of old timers remembering their first bikes everywhere I take it, even the Harley Davidson store. I love it! The dents are like battle scars (when the previous owner dropped it at 70mph in 92) gives it character.
I was surprised to see a couple RC51's!!

Here's my other toy. Arens TRX250R. Bored and stroked.:
I sold the other one next to it last summer.
None taken. I bought it because it was cheap and supposedly Two Brothers are engineered for CBR's, as Yoshi pipes are more engineered for Gixxers....or so I've heard. It was crazy loud but more of a whine than a growl. We actually sold it on New Years Eve. She had dropped it (frame sliders saved it) and we needed a pellet burning wood stove for the house. She likes the sound and feel of my bike better and she hardly rode hers. We just had a little girl so she would have rode it even less this summer.
