I've had Verizon reset my Droid x twice now, once to port my number after trying out the phone for a week, and then after I upgraded to 2.2 today (they recommended it) Both times I lost all of my downloaded apps. They have been unable to show me how to back-up my apps. What is the best way to do this? I've been searching for an app. Backup asst appears to be more for contacts. Any advice???

MyBackUp Pro is another option...

MyBackup Pro is a great option if you're unrooted. Worth the $5. (I used it after reverting from 2.2 leaked to the OTA 2.2.)Originally Posted by Clydex

The only bad thing about apps that back up your downloaded free apps to your SD card is when it comes time to update. If you wipe your phone for any reason and then reinstall your apps from the back-up file on your SD card they will not update. Reason being is the market does not recognize them as being downloaded because you are technically downloading them from your SD card and not the market. They are great for keeping track of ones that you have downloaded so you can go back and reinstall later.
I use both Titanium Backup and MyBackupPro, just to be safe. Both are worth the measly amount of money they cost, and if you do alot of ROM changes (like I used to do with my D1) they're worth their weight in gold!

thats an easy fix - run app updater as it will find and reinstall those aps form the market as they need it , and all is back to normal!!!

i like that - but had a tough time with it when i switched from one phone to another... it would not properly load my apps onto my new phone - just create another profile instead, but that may all very well be user error.
