No need to mention payment for services, everyone helps for free here

We'll get you fixed up. (important: keep the battery out when not trying to fix) First, the phone was running Liberty when the update was attempted? Next, try a factory reset: pull battery, replace; hold power and camera buttons until the Droid and triangle appear; press both volume buttons at the same time (unless it was on froyo, then press search key) ; scroll with volume keys to factory reset option ; press power to select (unless froyo, then press camera button) ; when it finishes wipe cache the same way ; when done reset and pray the easy way actually works.

If it doesn't boot after 7 or so minutes then you will probably need to sbf. Don't worry it's not difficult. But you will need to decide what system version you want it to be on. Let us know what's happening and we'll get you straight.

We need to determine what your system version was before you try and SBF. Normally its phone under Settings --> About Phone. Do you happen to remember what it was? Or if you took an update recently?

Ok being on Liberty 3 2.0 leads me to believe you were on either .602 or .605. Is your computer Linux only? Normally I would suggest going here Linux solution to your Windows/RSD lite problems and downloading the 1KDStaz_DX_4.5.605.iso, burning it to a disc and booting your pc from the disc and following the onscreen instructions. Until you are ready to do this, make sure you have pulled the battery from your DX because it can not charge while bricked or in bootloader.
