Hi, I'd appreciate a little help/direction in which to get started please

I've had a droid x since it became available on the market for verizon. Last November I rooted it to 4.5.605.MB810.Verizon.en.US and Android version 2.3.3 with the Liberty v2.0 rom. I haven't had any issues until about 2 months ago. The phone has become laggy, calls drop frequently now, my wifi doesn't stay connected for long anymore and now any video I record over 3min is un-openable/viewable. Never was the case until 2 months ago. I've done some reading on the forums, but am a little confused as to where to start out to update to .621 and .15p and reflash to an ICS rom like Gummy or MIUI from my current version of .605 and 2.3.3. Any and all help is greatly appreciated I just really want to get the new update for the radio as I can't conduct business if my calls are dropping every 5min. I plan to get either the S3 or Iphone 5 pending the specs on the Iphone 5 later this year, but for now my DX needs a little boost forward.

    Thanks in advance again,

    Perazian

I wouldn't take the .621 update. There are no real great benefits to doing so and once you are on .621 you cant revert. Stay on .605 because you can just flash the .15 radio on it using RSDLite. Let me find you the link.

Here you go .15p flashable radio

Thanks GoCliffGo05 I wasn't sure if I needed the .621 to get the .15p radio. So after I update the radio I can just reflash the rom to gummy or MIUI?

To update the radio you will have to SBF to Froyo and follow the instructions in the .15 flashable radio thread.

Easiest way to SBF is to use this Linux solution to your Windows/RSD lite problems

    D
ownload the Froyo one and follow the instructions listed.

After you are up and running, you should be able to flash any Rom you want as long as it is .605 compatible.

I think there is a new way to get 15p without going back to froyo, I'm looking for it now

It was for something else, so anyways ..

sbf to froyo (rsd or 1kds)
    root froyo
    install bootstrapper
    flash radio in cwm
    sbf to gingerbread (1kds only!)
    root/bootstrapper
restore nandroid or install new rom.
I used 1kds for all of it and it was quick and painless
