Alright, I've stumbled my way through this when I get around to hacking my phone, but I'm still unclear on a lot of the compatibility and terminology. I've been running Liberty 2.0.1 for 6 months now, and I just got around to upgrading to Android 2.3.
Here's where I start to get confused.
Some update threads are referring to Froyo as Android 2.3.340. And others refer to it as 2.2. Sometimes I see Gingerbread listed as 2.3, but I don't understand because Froyo is also referred to as 2.3. When something like CM7 requires I SBF back to 2.3.340 (Froyo), I look at my Android version (which says 2.3) and I don't know if I'm actually on 2.3.340 as required or not.
Currently my phone says I'm on:
Android 2.3.3
System Version 4.5.602.MB810
Build Number 4.5.1_57_DX5-32
Is this Gingerbread, or Froyo? And is the SYSTEM version or the ANDROID version the number that designates GB/Froyo? And if it's Gingerbread, why do people refer to Froyo as 2.3.340?
Explain like I'm five, please...
Thanks!!
