If your stock dialer has preference of dialing out, then your phone is vulnerable, that's what I gathered from reading up on it.

If you are vulnerable, you should look for the latest updates for your device. (You can force your device to check ahead of schedule.) Reeve also suggests you install another dialer, such as Dialer One so that a "Complete action using" prompt will show up if a website tries to hack your device. Other advice from users at XDA Developers is to use an alternative browser other than the stock one.

Two apps have also been developed to protect against the vulnerability: Auto-reset blocker and TelStop.

Finally, as always, avoid clicking on any unknown links.

Just stopping to give a big thanks to Wizard0f0s and others involved for your work on this. Just got my DX replaced (I dropped it DX <-- lol thats an emoticon, not D.X.), and was looking to try something new. This has worked out nearly flawlessly so far. Way better than the latest "official" release of CM7 (7.0 RC0 :P) that I had been using forever and which doesn't even have working GPS.

Really, my only outstanding annoyance is the missing swipe-to-clear notifications, which I understand is on the list, behind this dialer vulnerability. Speaking of which, could someone perhaps aggregate some links here for us to read up on this issue? I generally am very careful clicking links, but I'd like to know what I'm up against.

I think someone asked already, but I didn't see an answer, or at least one that I understood; Does anyone know if the GVoice dialer has this issue? Obviously it's better to be patched than just use a non-vulnerable default dialer, but I do use GVoice exclusively, so I'm cool with that for now, as long as it's not vulnerable.

I've only tested this briefly, but it seems to work well. As it is free, I've emailed the dev and asked if I can include it in the Rom by default.

Even if he / she declines, I still recommend it as an additional safe guard.

Just a quick question. I'm planning on helping a friend with his DroidX that is stock with the 621 update try to get over to MIUI tomorrow night. I was planning on using the magic root method, install Droid 2 Bootstrap to get CMW Recovery, then install this version of MIUI which I have had great success with on my modded 605 w/ 15p radio DX. Am I going to run into problems with the method I laid out? If I'm not going to the MX 604, I shouldn't need any of the fixes right?

I've been out of the whole roming stuff for a month or 2, I know things have slowed down a lot but i was just wondering, what is the newest or best miui right now to download. Im on cm9 and my phone isn't holding up to well and i want to come back to miui. Can someone post the download link to the newest build? Thanks.
