Is there a guide for underclock/volting on this rom? My goal is improving battery life. I've been searching for a bit, and I'm still just a little confused with MIUI. I found clock and volt settings in bootmenu. Here are my questions:

1. Is the bootmenu the right place to experiment?
2. Should I test with another app first, and then plug the settings in bootmenu?
3. In the bootmenu there are several governors. Which should I use? (SmartassV2 was originally selected, but when I reset to defaults it changed to OnDemand).

If you feel adventurous you could boot to bootmenu and change your vsel and gov for better battery and performance. Clk and vsel is all you really need to see in the pic and load all is for choosing a gov you flashed manually. These settings work best for my dx and are stable, if you get a random reboot then you could go back a raise one at a time by 2 and see how it works for ya. Don't forget to hit save at the bottom and back out then go back in to see that it saved, reboot and enjoy. BoostedassV2 is what I use.

Is that safe? Could I accidentally brick the phone by using the wrong setting?

Do you know where I would download either smartassv2 or boostedassv2? Google search gives me broken urls.

Also, the governors are listed in the bootmenu. Does this mean they are installed?

Won't brick it, may just have a random boot if too low or lag if to high. Smartass and boosted are included now too

Yup pretty much. Generally as far as VSELs/clocks, don't set bottom clock below 300. Don't set top VSEL ~1,200. Don't set bottom VSEL below ~15. TBH, its extremely dependent on your individual silicone. However, if it can't boot or has issues with your settings, worst case scenario the phone just reboots or freezes and you can pull the battery or reboot then go back into the bootmenu and change it again. Experimentation is the name of the game is its really dependent on your silicone.

Also, you will want to obviously set clocks/vsels dependent on if you want performance or battery. clothedinblack (like me, when I had my DX) set theirs/ours for battery (that's why top clock is less than 1,000, which is stock) I generally don't recommend set top clock over 1,200. Some phones can handle more, but the SoC on this phone generally doesn't like over 1,200. So I recommend that as a max. 300 as a minimum (its the lowest the kernel can handle properly). vsels generally shouldn't get below 15 at the lowest (if your silicone is able to handle low vsels) most are realistically around ~18-20 @ 300 MHz.

Yes, handscent does not work on this rom, gosms does however.
