that's the right one. the cloud option is there, but I've never used it so don't know where it goes in the cloud, haha. It probably gives you options, but the backups aren't that big.

this app and tibu are completely independent of each other. You can use both for your apps, but only the miui backup will save themes, settings, etc. Also, the miui backup app won't work on other roms so the app backups will be useless if you switch roms. Per the OP do not backup Contacts, Wifi Settings, or Superuser.

    Thanks for the help everybody.

For some reason I can't seem to see the change log for this latest update? Can anybody point me in the right direction or give me a quick brief on what substantial upgrades have been made?

    Wizard0f0,
Is there any limitation on size of video's? I am unable to watch mp4's over 2gb in size but under 2gb plays without issue.

I believe the 2gb limit is actually a limitation of fat32 (the file system for the sdcard). I haven't ever tried a file that large on the sdcard either though. I'll look it up and get back to you.

Edit : ok, fat32 has a file size limit of 4gb, but it looks like android uses signed integers for the addressing (cutting the file size limit in half) - http://android.stackexchange.com/que...ile-size-limit . On devices with the integrated sdcard (read built-in), your file system will probably be ext3 or ext4. That doesn't help the dx, just an fyi.

I should have mentioned that I am playing the videos from nas and using the 'videos' player which I think is built in google player. I get 'video cannot be played'.

Try using MX Player (free). I've had much better luck with it. https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...videoplayer.ad. It may be a limitation of the player itself.

No, but I've never looked into it before. Unless you actually have a need to do so, I caution against encrypting your phone (or your PC). You are drastically limiting your ability to identify and fix issues. If you are sure you want to encrypt, be sure to read up on what the impact will be. It may very well break things depending on how the encryption actually works (ie, will recovery still work, etc).
