I'm sure many of you are currently sbf'ing to get on MIUI 1.10.7.
Here are the steps I took to get there successfully. I am aware that there are many methods out there to sbf, root, etc. This is how I did it this morning, and I figured that it might help some people out.
Step 0. Download MIUI 1.10.7 and place it on your sd card.
Step 1. SBF to .602
Download the SBF file from mydroidword. This comes from p3droid himself.
Official 4.5.602 sbf for Droid X
The ziped file is about 200 MB. You need to unzip the SBF file (it should be 500+ MB) and use RSD Lite 4.8 or above to SBF to stock .602
*** IMPORTANT ***
It is normal to get into a boot loop after sbf'ing. The next step is to wipe data and cache.
>> If you are in a bootloop, pull out the battery, wait a few seconds, put it back in. Hold the home key and then the power button. Release the power button after a few seconds. You will be in stock recovery, where you will see a triangle with an exclamation mark in it.
>> Press the volume UP and volume DOWN keys AT THE SAME TIME to pull up the menu. (it took me 30 minutes to figure out how to do this, as it used to be 'press the search key' to pull up the menu and I thought I screwed up the SBF process)
>> wipe data and cache (volume up/down to naivage, power button to select) and reboot. You should be good to go with stock GB.
Step 2. Root the phone.
I used this method:
[ROOT][HOW TO] Win/Linux/OS X [Latest DX .602/.605]
And it worked easily for me. Download the file, extract/unzip it, and follow the instructions.
- usb debugging is selected, phone is in 'charge only' mode, and it is plugged in, run the exe.
Step 3. Access clockwork recovery
Download droid 2 bootstrapper. Make sure usb debugging is selected, bootstrap recovery, enter recovery.
>> I would make a nandroid backup of the stock rooted .602 file if I were you just in case you need it later.
Step 4. Install MIUI 10.7
After the nandroid backup, navigate to the miui 10.7 rom file and install (through clockwork recovery).
That's it! You will now be on the newest MIUI with the defy base.
Thanks to all the developers (DXC, P3Droid, etc) who make the Droid X one of the best phones on the market today! Some of my friends have with Android phones with better hardware, but I think that the roms and development on the DX is better than all the rest!
