i just recently recieved a new droid milestone x, but im on verizon. It's an alltel phone though. is there anyway i can switch it to verizon? or do i just have a really nice paper weight????

Does it have a Sim card? Or if it cdma?
If it is cdma... You might be able to just do a factory reset... Or do an sbf with the Verizon sbf... As I think the only difference between a milestone x and a Droid x is the carrier... I think

whats a sbf? sorry im new to all this phone lingo.
There are plenty of Guides on the forum about sbf. Learning is half the fun of it. Hear are some the articles I read when I first started.

The gist of your problem will be that the milestones have different baseband's (radio frequencies) than VRW's droid x. To rememdy this, and get your phone onto VRW you'll need to use a carrier specific sbf (most of them are VRW). Once you download the appropriate sbf. You have two options to apply it; you can use RSDlite, or the linux sbf_flash.sh. RSDlite *will* change the baseband. the linux method *will not* and you'd have to apply it through recovery.
