Is it possible to get GB .602 on Milestone X?

I have been a big fan of Miui. Since it now lives on the .602 gingerbread kernel am I stuck on 1.9.9 or is it possible to get GB on a milestone X and install the update 1.9.16.1? My second question pertains to the radio - can you get to gb without updating to the Verizon radios?

Thanks for any info, haven't found much for milestone x.

I haven't tried it yet, apparently one can get to 4.5.573 and preserve the regional baseband / carrier data-connections. After that it states you can use the Team Black Hat App all-in-one to get to .602.

I am not sure about doing this quite yet without more information/research. Does anyone know if this is feasible? I thought you had to be on stock .340 to get .602.

Absolutely. If you are familiar with Linux, download a tool called sbf_flash, which is basically like RSD Lite but much simpler to use. It WILL NOT overwrite your data settings, thereby preserving your baseband. I'm running stock deodexed. 602 with a DROID 3 theme, and I swear it's amazing, lol.

There's the link to the tool. Download the SBF of your choice, backup your APN settings using APN Backup and restore, flash, wait for a few birthdays, restore APNs, and boom, that's it.

Link to. 602 deodexer if you fancy that kind of thing. Install from custom recovery just like a rom. Make sure you wipe data first.

there is also an program floating around these forums somewhere...
it will allow you to take apart the rom and remove the radio file... thus preserving your radio... so you'll be good to go...

I will have to check this out. How does the Linux version preserve the radio and data?

Not true. Sbf through rsd in windows absolutely overwrites the radio. Do not do this.

thanks for that snow... i noticed sometimes that it did... other times it did not... and thought i read it shouldn't... but i guess that was just in reference to the linux method

Thanks for the link. I downloaded the program and ran the .340-.602 zip [from rootzwiki?] through it, but do you know where the radio file would be? I saw the different blur apks and other files, but none specific to the radio. Can radios be removed other ways, say through archive managers? I have used those to remove kernel checks on miui.

I am noob when it comes to linux. Is performing a linux based sbf difficult? Currently I am running ubuntu, but have no technical experience. I have used RSDlite before and didn't have a problem. I did overwrite my baseband with a verizon one and had to send my phone out to my carrier to reflash it though. Looking to not do that again.

I never could get the Linux way to work. I may have had a bad file or something. I would boot into Linux and nothing would really be there to let me sbf.
