Paranoid android possibility? And/or porting help.

So the paranoid android made their stuff open source a few months ago and there are a few posts on rootzwiki and xda about porting it. It's cm based and the tutorial pretty much said to take a working cm9 release and modify it with stuff from a paranoid android ROM. Sounds easy enough, but I'm sure it's not. Still curious to expand my knowledge though. So is it possible to port Paranoid android to the droid x? If so, read on

I'm running Ubuntu 12.04, I've got eclipse and android SDK. After I updated to 12.04 the adt plugin stopped working. I think I've got it figured out, just ran out of patience last night.

So can anyone give me some pointers? What else do I need to give this thing a try?

I'm sure it's possible, but I can't really help you. You might make some friends over at XDA who would know this stuff. Good on ya' for trying.

Find csking33 over on XDA. He is the one who did our port. Another active and friendly one is twitish. He ported another ICS ROM over for us.

Can't get my head around this process... trying to find some guidance, but not much luck there either. My 4 year old really cuts my attention span short too. "Are you gonna look at the computer all day, daddy?!"
I found a guide on xda, but I'm still a little lost. It says to have a donor and port ROM, where the donor ROM would be CM9 for my phone and the donor ROM would be a paranoid android ics ROM. And then you'd run certain files through a comparison/merge tool. But what I'm confused about is will any ics pa ROM work as long as it's for a device with the same dpi? And which one would I merge too? Donor or port ROM?

Wish I had the link handy to the guide. But there's a link to it in any Paranoid android ROM thread over at rootzwiki where it says something about wanting to port paranoid android...

sounds like you'll want to use cm9/aokp... something like that as the donor rom.. then use paranoid as the port rom...
because of the certain hardware specifics... i'd assume that you'd need to(or at least it'd be for the best) to use a rom that's already been ported to the dx... for a better mesh

I started dabbling with it. Merged all the stuff in framework-res.apk, but for stuck compiling it with apktool. I think I must have missed something setting it up, because it won't compile it even without making any changes to framework. I just tried decompiling it and then compile it right back, and I still got errors.

I get an endless string of this error when I try to recompile the unedited framework-res.

which version of paranoid are you using? is a a jb build? if so... currently... some apktools have a hard time with jelly bean apps...
