Root and unroot 2.2 OTA for a new person ... Oneclick root and unroot? (repost)

Ok, I got a droid x yesterday and love it, I use to have an android phone where I could simply root or unroot using androot. I loved this app and was wondering if I could do the something on the x.

Note I'm VERY stupid so the easiest and best explained method is what I'm hoping for.
Also all I mainly want root for is wifi tethering and other similar apps not ROM instalation.

There is currently no one click root app for the DX. There are somewhat simple ways to do it, but they involve using a pc and moving files around

The D1 was so easy wasn't it. There's a couple of options including a one click method toward the back of this thread How to Root Your Droid X***Updated (v2)***

Make sure you follow the directions in full and do a backup prior to doing this and any modifications to your phone

The droid 1 was a big help in learning for me it was so easy to fix if you were bricked. This one not so much but there is so many people here to help and info to walk you through any problem. Just make sure you be specific and don't leave out any details!
