Using Droid X as Spotify only radio

The radio stations in my area suck so I bought Spotify a while ago. I'm pretty satisfied with it so I plan keeping it. I've since replaced my Droid X with another phone so I'm looking to just keep the phone in airplane mode and velcro it to my dashboard in my car and of course, keep Spotify in offline mode and sync as necessary. I'm looking for a ROM that is fast to boot, sips the battery and any boot time speed hacks that would help too.

Any ideas?

[EDIT] Speed is very important, of course. I will be underclocking it but I don't want any bloat. That's what I mean by speed.
