Hot to go from .604 to .621

So back a couple months ago i took the OTA update to .621.... found out the hard way that you cant root or go back after the update. Well i found a way through the use of linux and was able to go to a version i can root, .604 milestone..... i only did this so i can run miui but miui is too damn buggy. So i decided to go back to regular old .604... Well for the past couple weeks now thats been buggy too. Random restarts, google nav not working etc. So now im trying to go back to my original vanilla droid x... version .621. Problem is that when i tried doing that through RSD lite... it said Failed Flashing process.....

Note: The sbf i was trying to flash is named -"1FF-p3a_shadow_cdma_shadow-user-2.3.4-4.5.1_57_DX8-51-120111-test-keys-signed-Verizon-US"

is this the correct sbf i should be using?

im stuck and dont know what to do know. Can anyone help me with going from .604 milestone to .621 OTA?

Did you extract the SBF file?

Try using a different SBF file https://sites.google.com/site/motosbf/droid-x-sbf-files , make sure the file isn't corrupt. Also make sure your drivers are up to date, and maybe try a different version of RSD Lite. Lastly make sure you are using the cable that came with your phone. See if any of that helps.

Yes, I extracted the SBF. And is it a "must" yo have the original cable? Because I lost that bad boy a year ago

It's not a must, but it is highly recommended. A lot of people have issues with a cable that isn't the original one. The one you have now is it at least a Motorola cable or just a regular knock off?

Edit: i just want to make sure of something. Your droid x, is it through Verizon or are you a milestone all the time?

i got the verizono droid x. no the milestone. i had to go to milestone sbf for root access

Rsd lite has been known to work only when it wants to. Try flashing it again. Before you do, make sure you have the latest drivers installed on your computer and if it still doesn't work try a different version of rsd. Worse comes to worst you could try the .604 iso disc.

problem solved. DROID x back on. 621

I got rsd lite 5.7 and the 621 sbf from that site. And it worked

This thread is a great example of how finicky RSD Lite can be. With my XP and Vista computers I run 5.4.4 with no problems. But with Win 7 64 bit 5.7 is the only one that works with it. I hold out hope for a .621 ISO so we can leave RSD in our rear view.
