    Google Talk/Can't download from Market since 596 update.

    Updated to the rooted .596 yesterday, haven't had any problems really but about 5 hours after getting the update and restoring my apps and data I began getting notifications about Google Talk. I believe the notification says something along the lines of Google Talk can't authorize. I'll edit this post the next time it gives me the notification. I don't use google talk, I've never even heard of it before this problem anyway so I wasn't too concerned with it until I realized that since this google talk problem has started I haven't been able to download anything from the market. It will start the download but the download will not go anywhere.

    Anyone have any idea of what to do for this? I'll get the actual message from the google talk thing as soon as possible.

    You're getting the google talk error message because your google account in general can't authorize, which is why you also can't download market apps. Do you need to figure out if it's a network connection issue or a password issue.

    Do your have any apps like droid wall that could be blocking traffic? Do you have data saver on? Etc.

    I use my college .edu account on my droid and my university required a password change recently. However the password change happened before I updated to GB. How could I sign out of my account on the phone and log in again? It may just be as simple as that.

    You have to have a google account on the phone. Is that your edu?

    Yes. What I am realizing that happened now is that my last backup was with the old password, so whenever I did the batch restore after upgrading that's when the trouble started. How can I reenter my password for my account on the phone?

    It should prompt you in the notification bar of a password error. Otherwise, you have to factory reset. There isn't a place to change the password otherwise that I can see. Someone else may have that answer.

    I guess you could always just change your password back to the old one.

    Okay well I just used Titanium to backup all my apps to my SD card, am I pretty much just going to have to redo everything else or is there any other sort of backups that I could do that won't start this?

    And should I just clear my data through Clockwork or is there a better way I could factory reset?

    Edit: I actually tried, I was pretty frustrated that my university was making me change the password. But they won't let you change it back to what it is.

    Try opening gmail and hitting refresh. It should give you a sync error and the notification to re-enter your password.

    Or, like I said, just change the account password to match the one on the phone already.

    I tried refreshing on gmail and it pretty much just does nothing. I get the sync symbol in my notification bar for a split second and it goes away. I have many new emails since the most recent one it displays.
