Dysfunctional is an under statement. Again today I get a notice about updates, I check to find 14 updates however only 2 programs would actually update all others were already updated.

Interesting...
How about we start with what system you are on, check settings - about phone - system version. It should look like 2.3.xxx.MB810.Verizon.en.US or 4.5.xxx.MB810.Verizon.en.US.
Also, if you could, check the version of the market you are using. Go to settings - applications - manage applications - "All" tab at the top - scroll down to and tap on "Market" - under the heading you should see the version.
Here is a link to the newest version of the market (3.1.3). You can download this and install to see if this fixes anything.

My market does it too. Says updates available yet all apps are up to date.

I just cleared the cache and data for the market and the apps that were hung saying updates available are now gone from the list. Hopefully that fixes things.

3.1.3 is a new market update (adds a PIN code for purchases in settings, among a couple other things) and should arrive on your phone soon.

"Still" means latest and updated. 602 and 3.0.27. Same problem was on initial OTA GB as well. Really a PITA considering both OS and Market APP from the same source with moto tweaks.
