    Odex to Deodex in GB

    Hi All,
Just flashed gb from froyo. Thanks to all for the great posts.
My question is now that I have an odex GB what is the procedure to flash deodex gb with the ultimate goal of trying liberty. The Official DX Gingerbread 2.3.3 (4.5.596) Release Thread - Something for everyone says to - "Download the zip ,Reboot phone into Clockwork Recovery
    Install the Zip file."
Do I need to wipe data / factory reset, clear cache or do I just flash it on top of my odex version? I assume I should make a nandroid backup just in case!
    TIA

    AL

Yes make a backup, but you don't need to wipe anything, just flash it over top in clockwork...

    Thank you,
Also, do I need to go to a deodex version to get to Apex 2.0 or can I skip the deodex and go directly to Apex. Eventually I would like to add some themes to Apex

I'm wondering the same thing, I had a leaked and rooted version of GB, went to p3droids page and flashed the odexed zip right on top. After 5+ attempts at deodexing myself, I gave up. So what do I need to do to get odexed: can I just flash the deodexed version right over the odexed version or do I need to sbf back to group, root, then flash? I've deleted bloatware and I think that might be the issue. And if I do nothing, will my phone be okay have went halfway through the deodexing process?

You shouldn't have to flash a deodexed version. When you install apex you're going to be overwriting your current system, everything in it. But I'd wipe data, dalvic and cache before installing it.

+1 for this advice, exactly what I did when LibertyGb came out and worked flawlessly! No need to deodex unless you just want to theme with stock .596 (rooted of coarse!)
