Well, all we can do it put the information out there, hopefully some folks will see it...If not, there's not much we will be able to do for them if they want to go back to Froyo...At least without Bootstrap working, they won't be able to try and restore a backup, thus bricking the phone since we do not have an SBF for GB, and if the bootloader is changed like rumor says, there will be nothing we can do about it...

I've been carpet bombing the 596 threads with posts saying "EASY SBF PROCESS DO NOT UPDATE IF YOU WANT ROOT!" lol

How about a post to all rooted phones, freeze some type of bloatware until further instructions from p3.

I didn't think we'd be able to take OTA from .595. That was just craziness to believe that. Gingerbreak not working wasn't a surprise, either.

I'm more concerned about not having an SBF for GB/new bootloader. Even if root does get solved in a day, I'm not taking my update until the SBF gets leaked.

It would be much easier to restore with a GB SBF and I'm sure that TBH will be working on making one once the OTA code can be looked at and rooted....

Can't say any of this surprises me. My phone works just fine on the first GB leak so I'll just stay where I'm at until root and an SBF file is available.

Ok...I know the gb has a new kernal. I was on the gb until last saturday. Sbf back froyo...gawd know I remember why I ran from it....now if I take the ota and play with and decide I want to go with the leaked version can I still sbf back to froyo and go from there? Thanks

Most likely NOT, as they usually change the bootloader with major OS upgrades..Just as before, when folks took the OTA to get to Froyo (2.2), there was no going back to Eclair (2.1)...

We don't yet know if we will be able to SBF back from the GB OTA, that's why it's suggested to wait a bit to take the update. It's just as easy to click later and wait till the dev have had time to analyze the new OTA. Without an early leak, there is just no way of knowing till we get it
