Updating to Rooted GB from Rooted Stock 2.2.1

Ok still a newb here, dont really have enough time to read all the threads to become an expert at this stuff so I figured id just ask the experts!

Currently rooted, via Z4 Root. Boostrapper, occasionally will overclock, and I have titanium backup (dont really know how to use it).

What I would like to do is update to the rooted version of GB (maybe deodexed? Dont know the benefit)

Everything I have been seeing is instructing you to do it from 2.3 and I dont already have that.

Can anyone help me figure this out?

Before you start, read on how to sbf your phone on case something goes wrong or you need to go back to 2.2.

The instructions are from 2.3.340 which is the system version of android 2.2.1. You are in the same place everyone else was when they loaded GB.

...and a big +1 to being familiar with SBF flashing your phone if you flash GB.

If you don't have the time, don't do it. The ones that get in the most trouble do not take the time to research everything and become experts. My advice is keep it simple and wait for OTA. Just trying to save you some agony.

I appreciate the help and suggestions to not upgrade. Its just a matter of not being able to decode all of the language used. I understand what I am doing to my phone. I just don't know all the lingo.

I will make sure to read up on how to .sbf my phone to make sure I can go back.

i installed liberty 1.5 then i used dx bootstrap and installed the not deodexed it froze . i went into recovery thing ( boot holding home button thing ) worked great. and then i installed the deodexed one. then i poped the alpha 1 theme. traded up to juice theme.
when installing the deodexed version of gb u must . u must use dx2 boot strap. i ran out of things 2 do. looking forward to themes for 2.3.3 apex . liberty . something.

So to get this straight.... The OTA will happen even if Im already rooted?

Yes, if you are rooted but stock (no ROMs, themes, major tweaks, bloat apps in place) you will still be able to take the OTA (when it gets here)

Thanks Man! I did however remove some bloat. Should I go to the back up and reinstall them and then just wait? Will I still be rooted after the GB OTA?

Also I just looked into SBF ing.... I would think it shouldn't be hard but I am lost!!!
