Can Rom Manager and Droid 2 (or X) bootstrap "conflict" with each other?
In other words shouldn't a person run one or the other so not to have an issue between "versions" possibly?

So if D2 is the one for you (on 602/605) then stands to reason Rom Manager really is kinda pointless for this particular scenario since ROM Manager would essentially think you're running a Droid 2 rather than an X, so the ROM choices would be innacurate?

... In any case, for now while I'm on 602, I'm uninstalling ROM Manager entirely in favor of just running Droid 2 Bootstrapper.

Again, thank you guys for the info.
No, they can't conflict with each other. DX Bootstrap is an older version of bootstrap, the D2 is the same thing, just a newer version, and when flashed on top of another, it wipes over the older version.

Since D2 was a newer updated version of the DX bootstrap, it just happened to work on the DX Gingerbread update.

Understood. Reason I ask is ROM Manager failed to run a backup from within RM. However it left me in "a" CWM screen to manually backup there. I was fairly sure both were set to D2. Rather odd/interesting.
I need two DX's.. One to try rom's on and one for MIUI because it's THE daily driver for me so I'm not messin' with it.

Simple fix.. I killed Rom manager as I stated previously for .602 and just running Droid 2 Bootstrapper. Appears to simplify and just plain work well. I won't mess around with Rom Manager again unless I'm running a 2nd Init rom.

Tried to give this a go tonight on stock DX, 2.3.3 .605 and got the following error as soon as I clicked "Root my phone"

"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.

The system cannot find the files specified"

Anyone seen this or know what it means?

    Thumbs up Rooted,thanks.

My droidx was rooted before the update 3 weeks ago.I was at v2.3.3 and 605 after ota upgrade .I deleted super user and Z4 Root.Pulled the battery and followed the post #1 instuctions and I was rooted. Like the instructions said I had to pull the battery 3 times to get it to stay rooted.

    Thanks.

Droid 3 easy root doesnt work for me...I tried pulling the cable before the moto M logo popped up cause it would go into chmod and then i hit reboot and then plugged the cable in...No luck.

Tried running Petes Moto tools and windows xp gives me a "Petes Motorola Tools Needs to close" Pop up window..

Im thinking my only resolve is to .sbf and then root.

Although the one click .sbf put my computer into recovery mode lol...So I may just .sbf the old fashioned way.
