    1. Download su for Froyo here
    2. PLUG YOUR PHONE IN TO A POWER SOURCE
    3. Boot the phone immediately pulling the battery (It will come up in Recovery)
    4. Install the su zip you downloaded

Does this only work for the scenario of going from .596 to .602? Reason I'm asking is that I want to get on .602 so I can get the updated Shuji ROM. For whatever reason, the TBH .602 AIO doesn't work for me coming off a fresh SBF. It seems to install fine, but then when I boot it, I get stuck at the red 'M'. Could I take the OTA to .602 from .340 and root it the same way you are describing? Or does what you described only work if I'm updating from .596?

Not sure about the ROM method. What -I- would do given my current knowledge, as of this second..

    • SBF to 340
    • Z4 root
    • Get recovery installed and working
    • 2 part zip to 596
    • Do what I said above

I have been kind of out of the loop but I believe there is a 340 to 602 upgrade zip out there. Once you are on 602 one way or another Do a nandroid backup of rooted 602 so you have a copy. Then ROM away.

The aio to 602 must be flashed from. 340 or 2nd init variant in order for the radio to install correctly. So you can either sbf back to froyo or use p3's monster zip, root, bootstrap then flash the 602 aio. If you already have shuji downloaded. You can flash it right after the 602 aio all in the same session. Just make sure you wipe everything. I gave it a test run last night but back on Miui.

OK. I was wondering if I'd have to do that or not. I already have the 2 part files from a while ago, so I'll just go the route that's already been proven to work. Thanks!

I tried flashing the .602 AIO right after a fresh SBF and no joy. I've tried downloading it several times, both over 3G and Wifi. It installs, but then when I boot it, I get stuck on the red 'M' logo and can't do anything from there. Not totally sure what the deal is, or if I'm missing something. It seems that there are a few other people that have had hit or miss results with the AIO's for whatever reason.

Have you tried pulling the battery and a factory reset from the factory recovery screen?

If you sbf'ed it shouldn't be a red m logo. You sure it was. 340 sbf? Another thing, when I used the monster 2.3.340 zip I had to let it boot up, root it, bootstrap and then go back in clockwork and flash the 602 aio. I kept getting an error if I tried to do it all in one session.

What I meant was I SBF'ed to .340, booted, installed Z4, rooted, installed and ran D2 Bootstrap, flashed the .602 AIO from TBH successfully, booted phone from CW and then it hangs on the red M.

But it's all good now, I flashed the 2 part .596 update and am getting ready to take the .602 OTA and then will get root on that via the method that Debian described.
