need help rooting 4.5.596 gingerbread on my DX with tbh app

I have the tbh app but I don't know what to do with it. Help would be much appreciated. I don't know what sbf to download and I don't know how to get into recovery. I tried the pressing home and power button thing and it shows the "!" Then I think u have to press the search button but it doesn't do anything. Please help, I really want root back. Also it says I have super user permission app but I can't do anything root related. I think it just stayed there cause I was rooted before the update and now gingerbread just blocks it or something. If u can please lists steps to do this. Gingerbread confuses me. Thanks in advance!

Oh and I dont know if I really specified this but I am running the newupdate gingerbread 4.5.596

the stock gingerbread? Did you d/l the ota update. Or how did you get up to .596

I got it by downloading the Verizon update by going to settings/about phone/system update

You're going to have to sbf back to froyo and then update using the tbh files.

The version of Gingerbread you are on is the OTA, it currently has NO root access. Use the links in my Sig to SBF back to Froyo like Snow mentioned and the use the upgrade files for getting to rooted Gingerbread.
