What's New with Froyo 2.2?

It does (well, did, haven't looked at it in 2.2) - digital zoom. I played with it one time when trying to take a close-up of a small spider. Was controlled with the volume rocker. But generally speaking, digital zooms suck. Better off just not using it, really.

The new camera interface ROCKS!!!!! and the Gallery now WORKS!!!!

I've seen other people talking about the gallery. What was the problem before? It always worked fine for me.

Actually, I miss the old behavoir there, they sped it up in the update, so you have to go REAL slow and almost manually stop it when using the landscape scroller, otherwise it just keeps going or thinks you want high speed and flattens out and blasts to the other end. I liked being able to flick it and have the images snake, and not having to be super precise to get it to stop on the image I wanted. ::: shrug :::

Usquanigo - are you talking about zooming during a picture or a video? I can't say I played much with the video prior to update but I found posts on other forums that indicated it was not a feature of the DX video.

Ah, I mis-read - I was talking about photos, not videos. Still, it's the same camera, I would have assumed it to be there as well, since when you zoom in in camera mode, the LCD shows you a real time zoomed in view, so simply recording that would be your video. Dunno though, never tried it (and wouldn't really think to, honestly).

It didn't. I love the videos, but at my son's football games I really want to zoom in at times, just on him and you can't. If it had that I'd probably never take a video camera.

More intuitive buttons in gmail, more common buttons(!, @,?) on a new row in keypad during compositions, extra data check box under background data

Snappier os overall although i feel a few parts are laggier. Other people seem to making a really big deal about lagging but i feel its pick your poison considering how cool other stuff is?

I predict youtube traffic will be reduced per handset now that people can get media from other servers now

Overall volume level on notifications / calls seems to be a big improvement.
