Froyo > Gingerbread

I don't know why I upgraded so quickly. Should've just stayed on Froyo & kept my root. This Gingerbread keyboard is weak. But it did fix camera issues. Isn't really faster. Battery life is better. My DROIDX is no longer rooted, that's my biggest issue. I hope that'll change soon.

Gingerbread is far better than Froyo, you're comparing (from the sounds of it) a modified Froyo to a stock GB. With all modifications the same, you'll know why you updated. At least I hope you get the same experience I have. Good luck!

I haven't found one thing better about gingerbread. Except the notification bar color.

That's the one thing that I wouldn't end up changing.

Spending multiple days getting the phone back to exactly as it was when on froyo has sucked. And still not there yet. Esp since this keyboard is horrible.

To each there own, I'm on Liberty v.6 and would never switch back to Froyo, the performance isn't close. I haven't had any problems either. I feel the same stock vs stock, Gingerbread is smoother than Froyo could ever be, but that's been my experience, some people haven't been so lucky.

I use Ultra Keyboard from the market, that's the beauty of Android, you don't have to use the stock keyboard.

ha I know thats why i was asking. If a keyboard is your only gripe I dont see the problem installing another. it would be the same as if you were on froyo installing a 3rd party keyboard. Stock froyo to Stock gingerbread isnt a contest in my opinion with the smoothness and even the updated gingerblur look ( still not an overall fan of blur but whatevs). I read all these complaints from people about the hard key lights but it doesnt bother me they arent on that often (at least on my phone). Buuuuuttt like you said beauty of android you have options and if you dont like something you can go back or change it
