Correct, as long as you don't remove any of the Motorola apps (bloatware) you can take the OTA. I recommend an app like Titanium Backup to 'freeze' apps from running, then 'unfreeze' them before taking the OTA. Here's a good thread on the subject:

Just to clarify, if we are rooted and as long as the stock apps have not been deleted, unfreeze with Titanium Backup, and accept the OTA (if/when it comes)? Even though 2.3 is not rooted yet? I am a newbie to the post as well and just want to clarify. By the way you all are awesome and give people the courage to make their X's the way the should have been! Thanks again.
