Manual application of 2.3.5 OTA update?

Hello, folks. I have a rooted X2 that I have SBF'd back to stock 2.3.4-380 from CM7 (got too unstable). I'd like to get the OTA 2.3.5 update (thinking of trying Eclipse), which keeps failing OTA. I have downloaded the file from here. I know I need to use the Android Recovery mode to install it from SD Card. My question is 1. Will this work, and 2.In what location on the SD do the Android Recovery files live?

Thanks in advance for your patience and help!

If you download the 2.3.4 to 2.3.5 official ota then yes it will work (well it should.) Download it, place it on external card and apply in stock recovery.

In what location should I put that file to make sure it shows up in the recovery list?

On your external SD card. Not in a folder or anything just right on the card. You should then be able to navigate to it in stock recovery.

Thank you for the help! I was able to access it via "apply update from sdcard", but got an error:
"assert failed: apply_patch_check("/system/app/Maps.apk","(some alphanumeric string)","(some alphanumeric string)")
    E:Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip
    (Status 7)
    Installation aborted."
    Any guidance?

Was the download bad? Do you get the exact same error when trying to download and install the OTA from Settings - About Phone - Updates?

The OTA just gave me the generic "Software Update Failed". The error seems to be something with Maps?

Strange... do you have the latest version of maps installed? If so try uninistalling the updates... I've never seen that error message before and I don't understand why both methods fail for you..
