not sure that's how you should do that
    I would unzip the 2.3.5 update.zip rename the boot.img.p to boot.img
    and flash that
    Code:
    moto-fastboot.exe flash boot.img
    moto-fastboot.exe reboot
    but I could be wrong

The boot image from the patch folder? I have all the SBF an OTA files. I researched and grabbed any file I could find so far for the Droid X2 off the net.

I'm stuck at #24 on the link above #21. When I try that I get (Failed to process command boot error (0x180001)) another error code I got was (Failed to process command flash:system error (0x180002)) any ideas on alternatives?

are you using fastboot.exe with fastboot commands?
    Code:
    Fastboot boot boot.img
    (this may be typo)
    Code:
    fastboot flash boot.img
    or
    moto-fastboot.exe with these commands
    Code:
    moto-fastboot.exe flash boot.img
    moto-fastboot.exe reboot
they are two different programs, fastboot.exe can be found in pete's root tools in my list
    may need that

The moto-fastboot I'm using is the DX2-batchroot folder. I have Pete's root tool but it is only a .exe file and I have no way to get the fastboot program out of it. I downloaded (adb_fastboot_and_other_tools) and used that fast boot program instead. I provided a link to the download page. http://dottech.org/21534/how-to-inst...android-phone/

I'm out of the fail boot 2 fastboot protocol finally. I downloaded (DroidX2_Root_2012_2) when I clicked on it the popup window came up an nothing happen. I left the window open clicked on it again the second popup window showed up an nothing happen. But the first popup window showed it pushing files to the phone. When it reboot the phone flashed on for a brief second and went off. I manually turned it on and it just hung at the M logo. I pulled the battery put it back in and it wouldn't turn on the battery was dead. Now I'm back at the starting RSD protocol support screen getting ready to SBF it an hopefully it will work this time. I don't know if it made a differance or not but I did have the RSD lite program running in the background. It sees the phone waiting for me to load an SBF file. I'm going to SBF with the 2.3.4 since the update to 2.3.5 gave the phone problems.

I'm back to square 1. After the SBF file is done and it goes to reboot the phone it jumps from 26% to 100% say's pass but its back to the RSD protocol support screen. During the SBF install a popup showed up at the bottom of the screen ( Motorola flash innerface) which never happen before during any SBFing I have done in the past on the same computer. My problem is in the reboot. When it gets to 26% the phone goes to RSD protocol support and the RSD lite program jumps to 100% pass.

My X2 shows Bootloader Version v0x000007
In the past when I talked with a Verizon customer support Rep about the update that screwed up more phones than mine. She said they don't do the updates Google does. Strange how it took out some Droid x2's an not others an no explanation why an no SBF fix. I don't know of a different design in x2's for it to effect some an not others. What did they do go down their list an send different updates out. One to mess up some phones and one to update others. Be nice to know exactly what it did to mess them up so us that got the bum update can better know how to try an fix the problem.
