Yes you can, let me find you the link. Here you go [How to] Root 2.3.5/1.3.418
Do self extracting one, its the easiest.

    turn phone on
    enable usb debugging (system/apps/developer options)
    connect to pc
start program, see instructions specified with the option you chose
there are on screen instruction, but this is what will happen
a file is pushed to your phone with adb
phone will reboot to fastboot, all you will see on phone is moto boot logo dualcore screen
    click enter
to files will be flashed to phone
    phone will reboot
    when it has completed reboot
    click enter
    phone will reboot
    when phone has completed reboot
    click enter
files will be pushed to phone with adb
    phone will reboot
    when phone has completed reboot
    click enter
files will be pushed to phone with adb
    phone will reboot to recovery
press both volume buttons when you see ! in a triangle with android andy
wipe cache using volume buttons to scroll, select with power button
when complete, select reboot with power button
    done.

when running the batch file or slitaz you may see these errors
rm failed for /data/preinstall_md5/magic.md5 no such file or directory
no root.img.gz no such file or directory
rm failed for /data/preinstall_md5/magic.md5 read only file system

that is fine, it will still work

BSR/ System Recovery will also be installed

Root DX2 2.3.5 batch file in self extracting exe
    DroidX2_Root_2012.exe
    download
double click on DroidX2_Root_2012.exe to start
    follow onscreen instructions
note: first reboot, goes to a nonlabeled fastboot mode, all you will see is moto boot logo dualcore screen just click enter to flash files

It's very simple, and instructions are on screen once you start the program, but ask if you have any more questions.

Eclipse is the only Rom that is compatible with 2.3.5. However it is widely considered to be the most stable rom. It isn't hard to install. Let me find you some links and i will edit my post. Also if you want someone to walk you through it, send me a PM and i'll be happy to help.

NOTE: You rooted 2.3.5 outright correct? You didn't carry root over from 2.3.4? If you did carry it over YOU MUST DELETE SU BACKUP in voodoo OTA rootkeeper. If you didn't carry it over then don't worry about this.

    Eclipse 2.3 Download:
    http://d-h.st/5jU

***Important: In order to enter BSR/System recovery YOU MUST BE PLUGGED INTO A WAll CHARGER, not the computer or anything else, A WALL CHARGER***

    Make a backup
    1. Once you are sure you are plugged into a wall charger press "Recovery Mode" inside the system recovery app and in a few seconds your phone should reboot into the recovery menu.
    2. Once you are in the recovery menu press volume down 6 times and "backup & restore" should be selected. Press the power button on top of your phone to select it.
    3. Use your volume buttons (up and down) to navigate to external sd card as storage location and select it using the power button.
    4. On the next screen the "backup" option should already be highlighted so select it.
    5. Backup will begin and should take no longer than 10 minutes.
    6. After the backup is complete you should be back at the original bsr menu and "Reboot System Now" should be highlighted. Select it.
    7. You have just successfully backed up your phone.

    To Install Eclipse
    1. Download eclipse from the file above on to your computer. Place the entire zip on your external SD card (not in a folder just on your card. Do not unzip it)
    2. Important:Make sure any pictures you want to keep are stored on your external sd card because you will be doing a data wipe. Also just to be safe make sure your contacts are backed up through google or verizon just in case.
    3. Again make sure you are plugged in to a wall charger and enter Recovery Mode again through system recovery
    4. In the recovery menu go down and highlight "Wipe Data/Factory Reset" and select it.
    5. Once that is complete go down and select "Install zip from SDCARD"
    6. On the next screen select the second option "choose zip from sdcard"
    7. Go down and highlight "X2-Eclipse-v2.3.zip" and select it.
    8. Once that process is complete Reboot System Now
    9. The first bootup will take the longest, so dont worry if the Eclipse Boot animation stays on screen for a little longer than normal.
    10. Activate phone and enjoy eclipse.

Note: once Eclipse is installed your task manager and System recovery will be located under Settings--> Eclipse parts.

Also once Eclipse is successfully installed make another backup just in case something goes wrong down the road, you will have a fail safe.

    Eclipse v2.3 droid x2 won't install - Error message
I'm a noob (1st post here) on all of this stuff, so it's likely I did something wrong along the way. But, I followed the OP directions step by step. After I wiped the cache & tried to install eclipse it gave me the following error message (I tried 3 different times, same message each time):

    E:signature verificaiton failed

Any advice on what to try next? TIA

Did you root from 2.3.4 use voodoo then take the 2.3.5 ota? Or did you root 2.3.5 directly? If you used 2.3 4 make sure to delete the su backup in voodoo. The signature error makes me think you got a bad download. Make sure you are using the normal BSR not the patched and try to download it again. Where did you get the dl from? Also don't use Rom Manager or anything like that. All of our roms must be flashed in BSR.

Also just to point out if you are installing 2.3 over anything other than a previous version of eclipse then you should wipe data, dalvik and cache. If it's over a previous version wipe cache and dalvik.

I rooted from 2.3.5. I'll try downloading it again.

Edit: I also used the version of eclipse that was in your post above

Alright well that is the link provided by the Dev. Are you downloading it from your phone or PC? Anyway, once it's download check your MD5 Sum and make sure it matches 3cde119578f20b3579ce65ec88bb8a62
