Help please. Camera problems after repair!!!

This issue may have already been discussed but I couldn't find anything on here about it. I just recently replaced the digitizer on my X2 because it was cracked. After replacing it and putting everything back together I booted up the phone and everything was woring great....... except the camera. When I bring up the camera all I get is a black screen like it isn't working. And if I click the button in the corner, the flash comes on and stays on constant until i exit out of the camera app. I'm not sure if this is a connection issue with the motherboard and camera or what but if someone could help it would be much appreciated!!

I suggest taking it apart again and making sure that the flex connecting the camera to the motherboard is completely connected.

Just took apart a captivate so I'm not sute if the X2 has the same structure of not.

I have done so multiple times and the cable is in there nice and snug. I've even checked all the ground tabs and everything seems to be making contact where is supposed to be.

Upon taking it apart and looking at it again I did notice that the black tab on the connector is missing. Could that be causing the ribbon cable to not make a good connection?

Was it there when you first took it apart? And what happened to it?

Yes, it originally was there. It was really small and I'm guessing it popped off while I was trying to take it apart. I'm thinking that the tab put pressure down on the ribbon cable giving it the proper connection it needed.

Yeah, which means I have no way of fixing it unless I can order that little tab (doubtful) or find a junk droid x to steal it from.

My phone started doing this last week. It has never been altered, rooted or repaired. It is one of the first phones released and out of warranty. I have tried clearing cache and now it fails to initialize. Could there be another solution, or do I just forget the camera for several years until I finally upgrade.

Have you taken it apart to check and make sure everything is making the proper connections? Have you dropped it or gotten it wet?

If you want to try and sbf it to see if that helps you can always try that and if you use the same version you are on now you shouldn't lose any data.

The other way to go would be to do a factory reset, but this would cause you to los Angeles everything unless you rooted your phone and made some backups first.
