Hi, I've got my X2 rooted on 2.3.5, barnacle wifi tether, and I have successfully attached with my laptop to see that it works.
I have not got another Droid X2 to connect to it however. Is this supposed to be possible?

Hi, I've got my X2 rooted on 2.3.5, barnacle wifi tether, and I have successfully attached with my laptop to see that it works.
I have not got another Droid X2 to connect to it however. Is this supposed to be possible?

I may be completely off base here but doesn't cm7 offer support for this? Otherwise im not sure if it is possible.

DX2/DX act like a tab, require infrastructure tethering. It depends on whether the patches for the X2 now allow infrastructure. I don't have an X2 but I know on the X stock supported infrastructure mode, CM required patches to get working correctly. Are you running a ROM right now or stock/rooted? Do you see the connection on the other phone or does it just not show at all?
These are still stock (2.3.5), but it sounds like maybe time to start backing up my apps and getting a ROM on here. I've been wondering what I could try that would not be slow, as it seems X2 can be painfully slow from what I've seen. So what you think best for a ROM to run smoothely on X2 and also help get good wifi tethering, CM7 ?
Eclipse is by far the most stable of the roms out there but im not sure it offer what you are looking for. It may but you will just have to do some reading/asking around. Cm7 is 2.3.4 based but a good rom. You will have to sbf to be able to flash it though.

I'm surprised because the problem I've had just reversed... On my droid X2 I've tried barnicle and the other app "wifi tether". Before I could only connect a PC to it but not another X2. Lately I was never able to connect my laptop to it anymore. Yesterday I deleted both tether apps, then installed the latest "Wifi Tether" app. Now to my surprise, I can only connect another X2 but cannot, for the life of me, connect my laptop.
Any info somewhere about configuration settings to try? I've tried a "routing fix" and everything I could think of in the settings.
