Stuck in safe mode

I got my x2 wet a few days ago, and ive been stuck in safe mode ever since. Ive tried everything from taking out the battery to setting the phone in rice and i even sbf'd. Nothing work. So what im thinking is that the menu button is stuck one way or the other. So what im going to try next is to change out the ribbon cable for the buttons. Does anyone else think this might work? I have fixed phones before by changing parts in them so i know what im doing. Just asking if anyone else thinks this might work? Also my menu and search buttons dont work. All these views but no replies.. anyways, i went ahead and ordered the part. Should be here by june 29th. Ill let you guys know if that fixes it.

Sorry it took so long. The part came in but verizon took my x2 because it was in boot loop. They fixed it but couldnt get it off of safe mode. Yesterday i went ahead and changed the buttons out and it worked! Sorry but i dont have pictures. I may have unplugged the camera on the phone because it no longer works. Sometime soon ill take the phone apart again and ill take pictures on how i changed the buttons out. But yes it did work and im no longer in safe mode

I have sort of the same issue. I restarted my phone after getting it slighly wet (from sweat and a little rain, biking with it) and the menu button stopped bringing up in app menus. The menu button now brings up voice commands. Weird. I was on a rooted liberty rom. I SBF ed it back to verizon's stock rom, wiped cache and formated data, yada yada yada. I did all this since I was in a forevery boot loop.

Now it stays in a boot loop or bootloop, unless I boot it in Safe Mode (turn off phone, turn on phone and hold menu button at the same time until the droid eye appears). Safe mode is the only way i can use my phone.

Now since I can only use the phone in Safe Mode, no installed apps will work.

I am just going to wait for the newest iPhone to come out, since I am totally fed up with Android and it's hooky crap.

Thank you very much. I cleaned the contacts on the button ribbon cable and the connector and fixed mine!
