problem with cm10 installation

Have tried to install cm10 several times, keep getting this error. any help available??

A couple of things to check out. If you go to settings - about phone what android version are you on, 2.3.4 or 2.3.5? CM10 only works on 2.3.4. Or are you already on a ROM and trying to flash it over? If so what ROM?

Secondly have you made sure the download is good? You can check the MD5 sum from the download page.

Thirdly are you trying to install it through the X2 BSR and not stock recovery or ROM Manager or anything like that?

Ok so I just saw you posted this over on XDA also...

Here's what I need you to do for me please. Explain to me step by step how you are attempting to install the ROM. I know it sounds tedious but it will help a lot. Please be as specific as possible.

Edit: you said you are wiping data before you install the ROM from stock 2.3.4? Don't do that. Boot into system recovery, flash the ROM, flash the GApps then wipe data and cache... see if that helps. If not post the steps like I previously asked.
