Picture files around 2MB, hard to email

i took a bunch of pictures on a recent vacation with my X2, I want to email them to a few people but the total size is 86mb. i notice that most pictures average from 1.5-2mb each. This seems really large, is this normal, am i doing something wrong? shouldnt pictures only be a few kb each?

even compressing em the file is still too large, any ideas?

    Thanks

Those file sizes sound about right. It is a 8mp camera so the pictures are decent quality hence the larger files. As for the pictures you have already taken, there isn't too much you can do about it unless you find some third party app or program to compress them (which sounds like you have already tried.) In the future if you wan't to take pictures with a smaller size open your camera and press the menu key and go to settings. There will be a resolution option there. The problem with this is that the lower the resolution the "worse" the picture.

Edit: I'm using Quickpic as my default photo app and if you click on your photos and select edit there is a "shrink" option. You can resize the pictures there and it wont delete the original it will just make a copy in a smaller size.
