problem sizing wallpaper

So i used the search and came up with all the various sizes for wall papers. And i've tried each one. however, when i go to set my wallpaper through the gallery app, it ALWAYS pops up with this orange box, resizes the picture and ends up blowing it up. how do i make it NOT do that?

Stock wallpaper size needs to be 960 X 854. If the image is a different dimension than this it will be altered after performing the cropping (orange box) that you mention. That has been my experience at least. Use a photo editing program to re-size the image you want to use to as close to the dimension I've provided and you should see less (if any ) distortion.
