Diminishing Quality:
Maybe one of you can make sense of this...
I am currently trying to change my homescreen to incorporate the following image as my background.

I always transfer my background images files from my computer to my Droid X using a USB cord. I have transferred the above image in both .PNG and .JPEG extensions and regardless of which extension I use, the end result looks like the following.

Why?
I want the background image to be as smooth and beautiful on my phone as it looks sitting on my desktop as a .PNG and .JPEG file. On my computer the file is a 640 x 533 at 300 ppi image saved as either .PNG or .JPEG. If it matters at all, I am running Launcher Pro+ and to switch the background I am hitting the menu button, then wallpaper, and searching for the image it's designated spot in the media gallery ('Backgrounds' folder).
Clues? Answers? Suggestions? Instructions?
Thanks!
Cheers,
Kyle

its due to the stock wall paper app, if the pic is not the right size it will zoom in on it, download multi picture live wall paper app from the market and it will solve that problem

Ha. So simple. Worked like a charm. Thank you.

Also, for some reason, the stock wallpaper app renders 16bit colors, not sure why. Use another app that allows larger quality 32bit colors like quickpic or fishbowl photo. Make sure to enable high quality wallpaper in the settings.
