    Using Themes?

Can someone please explain how to use/load themes on my Droidx? I've tried searching, but not finding anything really. I don't have anything on it other then a couple games really. Do I need to have a certain app to load them?

In my experience the road to themes starts with getting your phone rooted. You then need to download Rom Manager and install a ROM from there you will also need droid x bootstrapper. Installing a ROM such as FlyX will deodex your phone and remove bloatware and then your ready to theme. Hopefully others will chime in.

Dang, really? I didn't know you had to do all that and I'm not really wanting to root my phone. At least not right now. I was hoping there was an app to use, or setting to select a downloaded theme. Came from a BB Storm, and they are incredibly easy to use different themes. Oh well I guess.

I am by no means an expert on this, just explaining the path I took. There may be a simpler way.

Installing themes requires several steps, each step has a chance of messing up your phone. When I first got my Droid X, I was paranoid to theme and to even root, since this was my first Android phone. After lurking on so many forums and reading different people's experiences, I finally became comfortable to root. Rooting is just the first and probably the easiest step. But yes, you're going to need all the things stevewitt mentioned.

i guess a work around would be to download launcher pro or adw from the market and then there are themes for those programs. it's one way around all the other stuff
