ADW Themes vs ApeX Themes

Just a quick question that I've not seen answered (my google-foo is probably just weak) but have wondered about. ApeX runs ADW.Launcher which has numerous themes available. What is the difference between ADW themes and themes made for ApeX? Is there any or do ApeX themes do more than ADW themes?

I'm assuming that it comes down to things like changing the icons of some of the system apps and possibly the notification bar. Pretty sure ADW doesn't do that, though I could be wrong as I've never loaded an ADW theme.

If anyone could just give me a quick clarification (or in depth if they feel like it) or slap me upside the head and provide a link showing the other 4028347 threads about this same thing that I somehow missed, I'd appreciate it.

ADW Themes can change limited things such as appearance of applications and the appearance of the google search bar. A theme for a rom such as ApeX can change the menu style, notification bar and icons such as battery and signal. ADW themes are mostly used for its vast icon database. ApeX theme are used to change the general layout of your phone.
