No media sound from rear speaker

I have a completely stock droid x... actually a milestone x... alltell:/ the problem I'm having is this, whenever i try to play music, games, online video, or even stored video from the camera, no sound can be heard from the rear speaker...the big loud one. no sound comes from the smaller ear piece either... as I've heard other people having that problem. but the speaker does definitely work, speakerphone, ringtones, etc. it seems as if it would be a settings problem more than anything but I've tried everything i can think of and still no luck. other than that there are and haven't been any other problems with this phone and it hasn't been dropped nor has it suffered from h2o. much appreciation to anyone who may know whats goin on!
