Question SBF for almost 2 weeks with no success. Help.

I have been trying to SBF for about 2 weeks now. I have 2 laptops I have tried with different setups. I have one laptop running Win 7 and I have tried using RSD 4.8 and 5.6 using the .621 SBF because I did take the update and am running BootLoader 30.04. I then setup a Virtual Machine and was running Ubuntu on it and using the sbf_flash method. Everything completes with no errors but it will not come out of BootLoader. The issue with RSD in Win 7 is it states there was an error switching phone to BP pass through, this errors occurs in 4.8 and 5.6. I have a second laptop running Win XP SP 3, I have run 4.8 on it but get a different error about the phone not re-enumerating. I am stumped. I do not know what else to do, I have used OEM cable, I have tried different cables, I have tried different USB ports. I have just about exhausted my resources but I am yet to be convinced I have a paperweight. Someone out there will think of something. Help me!

I went with the Linux ISO method. Unfortunately my laptop screen on my Win 7 PC is not working so I have it hooked up with HDMI cable to tv. I tried performing the Linux ISO method and the HDMI cable would not recognize the computer when attempting to boot Ubuntu. I went and purchased a monitor cable and now I can see the screen. Performed the flash, re-booted and once again after wiping cache and factory reset it booted into BootLoader again. I pulled the battery and let it sit for an hour while I made dinner. Come back to the phone and it boots right up. Finally!!!

Well I spoke to soon. I attempted to activate phone by calling *228, it stated I needed a better signal and to attempt again. I soon as I hit activate button the phone rebooted and were back in BootLoader. Attempting another wipe data wipe cache and battery pull.

What was your system version before all of this and which SBF did you use?
