Possible To SBF Milestone X?

i have a milestone x using a local regional carrier called Carolina West Wireless. currently running android 2.3.5, system version 4.5.604.mb809.acg.en.us. i recently rooted it using zergrush. i would like to start flashing roms soon, but i want to make sure that if anything goes wrong, i will be able to sbf if needed. i've read where a few milestone x users had difficulty sbf'ing. also, i dont know what sbf i would need for the carrier i'm on.

That's a great place for sbfs. If its not on there ththen there's no sbf. But if there becomes one. It'll get on there sometime haha.

OP, not all carriers get sbf files from Moto, I haven't seen one for Carolina West Wireless but I'll look. There is a generic North America sbf file but I imagine it is an older Android version than what you are running and I can't guarantee it will work.

ok, thanks. i didn't know if i could use a generic sbf or not since carolina west is a small carrier that roams on others towers and do not have any of their own.

I think data would be the issue, in theory, you should be able to use any of the Verizon SBF files if you use sbf_flash. sbf_flash is the Linux utility for flashing and it does not overwrite the baseband/radio (that functionality simply isn't included in sbf_flash) although I'm not sure if I remember anyone actually doing that yet.

so if i can't find an sbf for my carrier, i wont be able to flash any roms, right?

Well, you can but you won't have that warm fuzzy feeling of knowing you can fix anything with a single file.

I'll look for the SBF for that carrier, might get lucky.
