Okay it was the camera button that was the select button, so I'm in here and now when I have the signature verification toggled off, I can try and install, however now I'm getting the error message:
E:Can't open CM9-DX-08192012.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted
What am I dong wrong now D:
I just tried using the 08/09 version of CM9, same thing
Also 2 different Gummy versions with the same error D:
Did you try with signature verification on? I've never toggled it.

Yeah I did, I also tried renaming one of the zips to update.zip (I think I had to do that once before when I forced an update which I now regret)
Could I maybe be flashing the wrong recovery in CWM? What does using the 2nd init do over the standard and how do I know which one I have?
Just checked and signature verification is off by default. Just to make sure, but you're choosing install zip from SD card, and the following screen choose zip from SD card?

Haha success! I tried doing it through CWM and just told it to flash it for me and it worked like a charm (I also redownloaded the 8/19 version)
So it's on there and it's running like a champ!
The only issue I have is that the Play Store isn't working, it opens for a split second then closes. Any ideas why?

Im trying to download the 605.iso and can't. I've tried on 3 different computers and its a no go. Bad link? I need this method to fix the radio after sbf'ing to froyo. Then its off to cm9.
You SBF'd to Froyo to get the .15 radio? Or just SBF'd to froyo for something else?
And the download won't start or won't finish? It seems to be working for me. Try a different browser?

looks like its working now. could it be that i wasnt a member of the site when i tried to download it before?
correct me if im wrong but dont you have to sbf to froyo to flash the radio fix then use the linux method to install gingerbread since rsdlite will change the radio back to 13?
