Caveat: I understand I may be a total yutz...
Now that that is out of the way...
DX on .621 Trying to use 1KDStaz_MX_4.5.604. I've tried burning ISO onto CD, DVD, and USB. All appear to run beautifully, however, after following all instructions it does not appear to SBF to the Milestone.
I compared the file size of the ISO I DL'd from the OP to the file size indicated in the OP, and I am seem short by 9 MB (201-210). Also- and this is where the aforementioned "yutz" comes in... I looked at the files on the disc/usb and I don't see the mb809-2.3.5.sbf or the zergrush files like the superuser APK.
Do I need to use those files in conjunction with the iso?
Sincerely,
A N00B
Couple things. You won't see the sbf or any other files, they are all deep within the .iso file. Checking the MB file size is pretty imprecise, get the file size in bytes, better yet, check the md5 sum. Last, it's unclear how you're burning to CD or USB, you need to be using image burning software to do so if you aren't.
Verizon was little use helping us when our "out of warranty" Droid X was bricked by an OTA update leaving us stuck, on the bootloader screen. RSD Lite didn't work, but this method did. The instructions were brilliant! Note: my battery had drained with RSD Lite... we had to rig an old USB cable to charge the battery so I could run the Linux instructions. Here's link to what I used. I charged the battery by itself, I did not use the full step 7 because I was afraid of melting my computer... I already had a soft-bricked phone... didn't need to have to buy a new PC too.
Link to instructions for charging a phone battery stuck in bootloader: HELP. stuck on bootloader. [Archive] - xda-developershanks again... Will be keeping this disk as a Droid X SBF fix for a long time...
Thanks. Using Windows 7 burn to disc option on ISO for discs and UNetbootin for the USB.
With all the success people seem to be having using your method, it is almost certainly something I am doing wrong... which is insanely frustrating...
Thank you for putting this all out there though, it is much appreciated!
*Edit*
I downloaded Ubuntu to a flash drive and stepped through SBF manually... still not sure why it didn't work from disc... but I did use the disc to root. =)
Running Wizard0f0s MIUI and I am verry happy boy

Im starting the program Via USB and i get to the step where it tells me to put the phone into boot mode, and I do. It then starts to unzip some files then says waiting for phone...
Then nothing.
Make sure you are in bootloader mode, make sure you are using the stock USB cable that came with the DX and that it is in good shape, try different USB ports on your machine.
ill try some other ports, is the phone on Charge mode? or PC mode? Does that matter?
