Linux solution to your Windows/RSD lite problems

Ok... so I got a warranty replacement for my X - they sent back an X2 which I didn't realize -so tried to go back to factory 2.2 using linux method w/ X iso - now bricked. Stuck in bootloader 30.04 battery ok to program - I've tried to get into fastboot then RSD so I could use X2 sbf but no luck - i'm using factory cable - left battery out but can't get out of bootloader. RSD will not recognize phone when plugged in - so what do I do now? I've seen USB cable slicing and that seems to work but is a little messy for me - is that even safe? Any help would be great...

The cut USB cord is for dead batteries in devices that won't charge. This iso is only for the DX, you should probably start a thread in the DX2 area for more exposure.

Have you tried a different USB port?

Yes, I tried multiple ports, same result.

This and make sure you are using the factory moto cable that came with the DX.

I used the factory cable, still hangs.

UPDATE: When the script gets to the lines "Index" it says "Unexpected chip"???

Noob alert! I was in the wrong mode, was in Recovery instead of Bootloader....DOH! The disc works perfectly to SBF back to Android 2.2 (Froyo). Thank you very much for this. Your effort is greatly appreciated!

After work yesterday I SBF'd again to try the new SSX ROM from Chevy1.

Had the same problem FIX: you must have ur X plugged up and at the bootloader screen before you boot the cd.

That issue was on the first release of this. Havent had a problem since.

I put this easy sbf on a flash drive and I get a screen that says default, slitaz, and a few other options. The only one that does anything is slitaz and it seems to boot correctly but I don't see the boot baby boot screen or anything. So I don't want to sbf if im not even sure its working properly. Also, I only have one usb port. Can I use one of those things with one plug in and four usb plug in spots?
